Fully Organic Program

Green GrassThis program focuses solely on building organic content and improving microbial activity in the soil. This is done by applying a combination of our organic fertilizer and compost tea sprays. We also introduce endophyte-enhanced grass seed to your turf immediately after core aerating to further protect your lawn. The idea is to cultivate healthy, biologically active soil to promote thicker, healthier turf. The stronger the turf, the better its ability to choke out weeds while standing up to insects pests and diseases. You can rest assured that we never use pesticides or synthetic fertilizers in our Fully Organic Program.

A complete lawn analysis through soil testing is required with our Fully Organic Program. Once the soil test results are returned, we can adjust our program to meet your lawn’s specific needs.

pH ADJUSTMENT – SPRING/FALL: Most turfgrasses grow best in soil with a pH level between 6.1 and 6.9 (slightly acid). Soils with a pH level below this range will benefit from the addition of lime. If the pH level is above this range, aluminum sulfate may need to be added.

Boy with toy lawn mowerOrganic Fertilizer: The fertilizer used will be certified organic fertilizer derived from 100% all-natural composted poultry manure. This fertilizer not only provides all of the nutrients your lawn needs, but also adds organic matter so good microbes are brought to you naturally.

Corn Gluten: Corn gluten meal is a by-product of the wet milling of corn. Corn gluten develops a hostile growing environment for crabgrass and weeds. Studies have shown a 30% – 40% decrease in weeds the first year, 50% – 60% the second year and 80% – 90% the third year. In addition to acting as a weed inhibitor, corn gluten is an excellent fertilizer. It will thicken the turf, crowding out weeds (the best preventer of weeds is thick turf).

Compost Tea: This extract of compost introduces beneficial biology into the soil. The beneficial biology aids in the soil’s ability to ward off harmful insects and disease. In the fall, soy is added as additional food for this biology, and also serves as a great nitrogen source for your lawn.
